Postby marta.pascual » 11 Oct 2013 10:03 am

Dear ISU 2013 participants,

We are working on the design of the forthcoming ISU 2014 webpage and would like to have some feedbacks from some of the participants and there is noone better than you to encurage new participants this year!
We would need a few comments from you regarding: What did you learn? How have you applied what learned? Why you would recommend this school? etc.

If any of you could please post here your thoughs before the 17th of October we would much appreciate that!

Thanks and kindest regards!

I am travelling from tonight for a week. So, posting my views now.

* The ISU really helped the participants to appreciate the importance of spatially explicit models in the study of ecosystem services, trade-offs and transfers (i.e. flows).
* It also helped to understand the need for specialized tools and dedicated modelling to clearly understand the ES-trade-offs in terms of sources, sinks and the challenges involved.
* Some of us are trying to apply what we have learned and we realize the need for multi-disciplinary collaboration for undertaking such studies.
Of course, I would recommend the ISU as a great learning opportunity.
